How to look after your neoprene seat covers

Most small stains and light marks are easily washed off using a damp cloth or towel.
These seat covers can be machine washed (on cold wash gentle cycle with mild detergent) but handwashing is recommended. Strictly no use of bleach. No tumble dry.

Just like a brand-new car, fresh factory-made neoprene seat covers have a mild, characteristic "new seat cover smell." This faint, non-harsh rubber scent is completely normal for high-quality neoprene and will naturally fade shortly after installation.

Installation & Care Recommendations

While Supertrim covers provide an excellent layer of protection for your leather, proper preparation is essential:

  1. Prepare the Surface: Thoroughly clean and dry your seats before installation, particularly after using leather conditioners. Trapped dirt or moisture can damage leather over time.

  2. Follow Manufacturer Guidelines: Continue to observe your vehicle manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule for optimal long-term leather care.


Do your seat covers work with heated and ventilated seats?


Heated Seats: Supertrim covers work seamlessly with heated seats. Made from premium, heat-compatible neoprene, our breathable design lets heat flow through cleanly—with only a minor difference in warm-up speed or peak temperature.

Ventilated/Cooled Seats: 

You will still feel the seat’s cooling and ventilation, though airflow will be slightly reduced. This is standard for any seat cover, as the original system relies on tiny perforations in the factory upholstery to circulate air.

While adding matching perforations to the covers would restore full airflow, we don't recommend it. Spills, dirt, and debris would pass right through those holes, undermining the cover's main purpose: keeping your original seats protected and clean.


Can I just buy the driver's seat cover?

Neoprene vs. Sheepskin Seat Covers

Thanks for reaching out! While sheepskin covers offer incredible, plush comfort, they do have a few drawbacks compared to other materials like neoprene, especially for a busy 7-seater family SUV like the Outlander:

  • High Maintenance: Sheepskin requires specialized dry cleaning or gentle hand-washing, whereas neoprene can just be wiped down or machine-washed.

  • Not Waterproof: Unlike moisture-resistant neoprene, sheepskin will absorb spills, sweat, and rain, which can lead to odors or staining over time.

  • Bulky Fit: Sheepskin is quite thick, which can take up extra cabin space and alter your seating position slightly.

  • Higher Investment: Genuine sheepskin is a premium material, making it significantly more expensive than rugged, daily-use alternatives.
